224 medical department He shall have served the office of Out-Patient Clerk for period of six months The viva voce examination shall be chiefly in the Anatomy of the Viscera and Morbid Anatomy the written examination in Materia Medica and Practice of Medicine with especial relation to the Diseases of Women and Children Physician's Assistant -A student shall not be elected to this office at period later than six years from the time of his Ma- triculation in the Medical Department he shall be qualified at the date at which his duties commence by some diploma to practise Medicine and shall have served to the satisfaction of the Physicians the office of In-Patient Clinical Clerk for the full period of six months He shall previously to his appoint- ment produce certificate of moral character to the satis- faction of the Committee of Management He shall before entering upon office pay the sum of 30 for board during his six months' residence in the Hospital The viva voce examination shall be in Anatomy and Morbid Anatomy the written examination in Materia Medica Toxico- logy in the Practice of Medicine and in Midwifery The Physician's Assistant shall visit the medical wards daily between the hours of ten and twelve accompany the Physician during his visit and prescribe under his direc- tion shall see such patients in the evening as the Physician may think necessary and be responsible for the proper treat- ment of the medical cases In tbe event of tbe death of any patient in the Medical Wards he shall send immediate notice to the Physician under whose care the patient was admitted and to the Pathological Registrar Assistant House Physician -The examination for this office is the same as that required for the office of Physician's Assistant This Officer will not reside in the Hospital but he is per- mitted to board at the Hospital on payment of the sum of 20 before entering upon the duties of his office
