180 medical department Principles and Practice of Medicine The Lectures on the Principles and Practice of Medicine are exemplified by Preparations Drawings and Models and by recent Specimens of diseased structure On account of the great extent of the subjects embraced is this Course some of them are treated of only in alternate year Obstetric Medicine and the Diseases of Women and Children These Lectures are illustrated by series of Drawings Dissections and Preparations Practical instruction is given in the use of Instruments and cases of Midwifery are assigned to Pupils after attending their first Course Botany In these Lectures the organization of Plants is demonstrated their physiology explained and tbe different modes of classi- fication natural and artificial described The subjects treated of are illustrated by fresh and dried specimens of Plants and by large collection of Drawings and Diagrams The Pupils have frequent opportunities during the Course of attending the Professor on Herborizing Excursions The text-book used in this Class is Professor Bentley's Manual of Botany 10 Forensic Medicine Thesb Lectures treat of the legal and medical relations of each question in Forensic Medicine including Toxicology The Course is illustrated by drawings preparations and speci- mens and by numerous examples from recorded trials The class-book used for tbis subject is Dr Guy's Principles of Forensic Medicine
