APPLIED SCIENCES 35 ×  Thermo-Electricity The Electric Telegraph Testing of Submarine Cables Physical Laboratory Students who have attended Courses of Lectures on Physics in the College or elsewhere and who are desirous of acquiring further knowledge of any special branches have an oppor- tunity of doing so under the superintendence of the Professor and Demonstrator The part of the above scheme followed by each Student will depend on his own progress and on the objects he may have in view charge is made of 10s 6c term or 25 per annum to cover the ordinary expenses of Students in the Labora- tories This sum must be paid to the Professor by each Student on entrance to the Class The Laboratory hours are from 12 to daily except Saturday Arts of Construction in connexion with Civil Engineering and Architecture This course is intended to furnish to Second and Third Year Students knowledge of the Elementary Practice of Civil Engineering and Architecture and of the application of the principles of Mechanics to Construction Student may be admitted to this Class in his first year on payment of the fees charged to Occasional Students and with the express permission of the Dean Lectures Tuesday and Thursday from 30 to 30 Order of the Course Second Year Michaelmas Term Materials their Structure Manufacture and Application -Stone in its Varieties the Decay and Pre- servation of Stone Artificial Stone Brick Terra Cotta Tiles and Pipes Limes and Cements Concrete Asphalte Slate Timber in its Varieties the Decay and Preservation of Timber Deal and Plank &c &c
