GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 117 The Junior Courses commenced on Wednesday May 23 and will continue to the first Examination with vacation of nine weeks in August and September For the second Examination they will commence at such time subsequent to the first Examination as shall hereafter be fixed and con- tinue to the second Examination with brief intervals iit Christmas and Easter For each Examination sixteen weeks will be devoted to the work of the Section The Senior Courses commenced on and will continue for fourteen weeks with vacation of nine weeks in August and September The mode of instruction adopted by the Professors is combination of lecturing with oral examinations and they examine the students both vied voce and by written papers at the end of each half year Gentlemen may be admitted either as Matriculated Students of the College by entering the following course Any two of the Languages named in the list English Roman and Indian Law Law of Evidence and Procedure of the Law Courts in England Political Economy or as occasional Students by joining any one or more cla3ses on payment ofthe specified fees Matriculated Students who wish to attend more than two Language classes can do so upon payment of the fees of £9 9s for the year or £5 5s for the half-year for each additional class The fees for Matriculated Students are £58 per Annum payable in one sum on entrance or £34 for each half year The fees for Matriculation which include the use of the Library are £5 17s 6d or in the case of Graduates of any University who wear their own academical dress £4 5s 6d The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple has ex- empted Matriculated Students of this Department from the necessity of depositing the £100 caution money
