THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT IV Examinations-Certificates The regular course of instruction requires an attendance of six terms two years and the Certificate will only be given to those who have attended regularly and passed the fol- lowing examinations Each Student at his entrance will be examined in- Tischendorf's Synopsis of the Greek Testament Parts II General Scripture History The Church Catechism with explanation One Greek and one Latin Book In October 1869 the books may be selected by the Candidates from the following list Homer -Books II III Ciceho -" De Finibue One Greek Tragedy Oksar -" De Bello Gallico Three Herodotus -Book II or any two Books other Books Sallust Thucydides -One Book ן Livy -Two Books Xekophon -"Cyropsedia Hooks Tacitus De Moribui German- II III onim and Asricola "Anabasis Books Virgil -Three Books of the neid In January and October 1870 the examination will be in- Cicero De Natura Deorum Book Virg Μα II Xenophon's Anabasis Book Homer's Iliad Book Questions will be set in Latin and Greek Grammar English Composition small pamphlet Initia Hehraica of four pages on the Hebrew Alphabet by the late Rev McCaul -Entrance Examination II III Cicero -" De Officiis -" De Natura Deorum or the Georgics Horace -The Odes the Satires or the Episties
