MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 253 The Examination of Medical Students is divided into two parts and is con- ducted partly in writing and partly viva voce First Examination which may be passed after the Second Winter Session embraces the following subjects Physicians' Prescriptions Anatomy and Physiology General and Practical Chemistry Botany and Materia Medica Second Examination at the termination of the Medical studies Principles and Practice of Medicine Pathology and Therapeutics Midwifery including the Diseases of Women and Children Forensic Medicine and Toxi- cology Testimonials required of Candidates for the First Examination Of having passed an Examination in Arts recognised by the Medical Council Of having completed the curriculum of study to the close of the Second Winter Session Second or Pass Examination Certificate of having completed five years' apprenticeship which may include the period spent at the Hospital of being twenty-one years of age and of good moral conduct Of having passed the First Examination 8×™ Of having completed the prescribed curriculum of study according to the Schedule including personal attendance of twenty cases of Midwifery and of having received instructions in Practical Vaccination Fee for Certificate of qualification to practise six guineas the half to be paid at the First Examination vi QUALIHCATIONS AND EXAMINATION 07 CANDIDATES FOR COMMISSIONS IN THE ARMT MEDICAL SERVICE Every Candidate desirous of presenting himself for admission to the Army Medical Service must be unmarried and not under twenty-one nor over twenty- eight years of age He must produce certificate from the District Registrar in which the date of birth is stated or if this cannot be obtained an affidavit from une of the parents or other near relative who can attest the date of birth will be accepted He must also produce certificate of moral character from the parochial minister if possible The Candidate must make declaration that he labours under no mental or constitutional disease nor any imperfection or disability that can interfere with
