190 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT his career propose the following Course for his guidance in the prosecution of his studies The Professors strongly recommend that four years should be spent in attending the Course of Instruction at the College and Hospital Although period of three years is sufficient to complete the attendance on the Courses of Lectures and Hospital Practice prescribed by the College of Physicians the College of Surgeons and the Society of Apothecaries yet the Student will certainly derive great advantage from extending the term to four years The following is the order in which Students intending to pursue their Medical studies during four years are advised to attend the several Courses of Lectures given in the College The Courses additional to those required by the several examining bodies are distinguished by italics Descriptive Anatomy and Dissections General Anatomy and Physiology Chemistry Botany and Vegetable First Summer י Physiology Session ן Materia Medica Practical Chemistry Second Winter Session SAnatomy and Dissections Physiology Chemittry Principles and Practice of Medicine Principles and Practice of Surgery ίMorbid Anatomy Midwifery Forensic Medicine Practical Pharmacy Morbid Anatomy Medical and Surgical Practice of the Hospital and Medical and Surgical Clinical Lectures The regulations of the College of Physicians and the College of Surgeons require that Candidates should have been engaged four years in tbe acquirement of professional knowledge The London University requires that Candidates for the Degree of Μ shall have been engaged the same length of time in the study of their profession
