general literature and science 87 VI French Literature and Language by Al- phonse Mariette Professor and Leonce Stieve- nard Lecturer VII German Literature and Language by Charles Adolphus Buchheim Ph Professor Religious Instruction Lectures upon the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion are delivered every Wednesday Afternoon daring the Academical Year by the Principal and on Saturday by the Chaplain on the Acts of the Apostles There are also examinations every alternate week on the subjects treated of in the Lectures and on Text-books chosen by the Principal These Text-books for the next Academical Year will be- For Third Year Students Westcott's Bible in the Church Maclear's Class Book of New Tes- tament History Second First Maclear's Class Book of Old Tes- tament History Marks are given to the papers at these examinations according to merit and the Students are classed at the close of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms On the last day of the Academical Year prizes are adjudged to the two best Stu- dents in the first second and third years respectively Student who has obtained Divinity Prize in any one year in this or in any other Department of the College cannot again become Candidate for these Prizes II The Greek and Latin Classics Lectures daily Saturday excepted from 10 20 to and extra Lectures for those who are specially desirous of addi- tional instruction from to on Monday Tuesday Thurs- day and Friday The subjects of these Lectures are the works of the best Latin and Greek writers and Greek and Latin Composition both in Prose and Verse Besides the work which is done in
