57 subjoined subscription list shows what success has hitherto attended their labours Having secured the services of Mr George Gilbert Scott they have already proceeded with tbe following portions of the work In tbe summer of 1861 they erected an Apse and inserted new windows II In August 1863 they gave orders for proceeding with the remaining alterations of the structure including new Roof and the Clerestory III In March 1864 arrangements were made for putting in the Clerestory windows for finishing the Walls and the Apse for re-seating in oak the whole Chapel except tbe stalls at the west end for the Principal the Head-Master &c and for throwing out an Apse at the west end as site for the Organ In effecting these works considerable personal liability has been incurred by few members of the Committee and sum of not less than 250 is required to meet the deficiency Many portions of the building are still incomplete and special donations will be gratefully received for special works such as the inlaying of the remainder of the roof the carving of the windows the internal decorations the Stalls at tbe West End for the Principal and Professors Tbe energetic Superintendent of the Choir Mr Monk has succeeded in raising portion of the money necessary for the new Organ some part of which has already been erected and the remainder will follow as funds are provided Contributions will be received by the Rev Professor Plumptre and Cunningham Esq Honorary Secretaries or may be paid to the account of the King's College Chapel Restoration Fund at Messrs Coutts and Co 's Post-Offlce Orders should be made payable to John William Cunningham at the Strand Office Ε PLUMPTRE CUNNINGHAMj June 1867
