THE SCHOOL RULES AS TO SCHOLARSHIPS These Scholarships can be held so long as Pupil remains in the School or so long as he pursues his studies at King's College or at either of the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge Any Pupil holding Junior Scholarship resigns the same in the event of his obtaining one of higher class Scholarship obtained in the School is tenable with one gained in the College The next Examinations for all the Scholarships except the Mathematical will begin on Thursday January 25 1866 Each Candidate must give in his name in writing to the Secretary of the College before four o'clock on Thursday January 18 after which time no name will under any circum- stances be received The Examination for the Mathematical Scholarships will take place at the end of June 18G6 Each Candidate must give in his name in writing to the Secretary of the College before four o'clock on Friday June 15 after which time no name will under any circumstances be received The following will be the subjects for Examination 1866 FIRST CLASS SCHOLARSHIPS Classical Scholarship- The Greek Testament and Scripture History Sophocles Antigone Tacitus Ann History Ancient and Modern Translations Greek and Latin Prose and Verse Candidates will also be examined in passages from any of the Greek and Latin Classics vith special attention to Gram- mar and Philology Mathematical Scholarship- Divinity the same subject as for the Classical Scholarship Euclid II III IV VI XI Algebra Plane Trigonometry
