246 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT Certificates are required of having passed the first Μ Examination and having subsequently attended course of Lectures on two of the subjects named above and for which the Candidate had not presented Certificates at the first Examination conducted twenty Labours attended the Surgical Practice of recognised Hospital during two years and Lectures on Clinical Surgery attended the Medical Practice of Hospital during two years and Lectures on Clinical Medicine and subsequently to the completion of this attendance on Hospital Practice of having attended to Practical Medicine Surgery or Midwifery in Hospital Infirmary Dispensary or Parochial union during six months Certificate of Moral Character is likewise required Candidates will be examined in General Pathology General Therapeutics and Hygiene Surgery Medicine Midwifery Forensic Medicine including questions on Surgical and Medical Anatomy Pathological Anatomy and Pathological Chemistry Any Candidate placed in the First Division of this Examination may go in for honours during the following week The subjects are -Medicine Midwifery and Forensic Medicine Scholarships and Gold Medals are given in each of these subjects Master in Surgery The Examination for this Degree takes place on the first Monday in March in each year Fee £5 Certificates are required of having taken the Degree of of having attended course of instruction in Operative Surgery and of having operated on the dead subject of having attended subsequently to having passed the First Examination to Practical Surgery with special charge of patients in Hospital Infirmary Dispensary or Parochial Union during six months Candidates will be examined in Surgical Anatomy the performance of surgical operations on the dead subject and the application of surgical appa- ratus and will be required to report on their Examination of Surgical patients Any Candidate who has passed the Examination may be examined for Honours in Surgery and the most distinguished Candidates will receive Scholarship of the value of £50 per annum for two years Doctor of Medicine The Examination takes place on the fourth Monday in November each year Fee £5 Certificates are required of having- Taken the Degree of Bachelor of Medicine in this University Of having subsequently attended to Clinical or Practical Medicine during two years in recognised Medical Institution ft or to Clinical or Practical Medicine during one year in recognised Medical In stitution and of having practised his profession during thrje years or of having been engaged during five years in the practice of his profession One year of attendance on Clinical or Practical Medicine or two years of Practice dispensed with in the case of those wh at the second Examination have been placed in the First Division Of Moral Character signed by two persons of respectability Candidates shall be examined in the following subjects -Logic and Moral Philosophy Candidates who have taken Degree in Arts in this University or in any recognised University excepted Medicine The most distinguished Candidate receives Gold Medal of £20 value For full regulations see the London University Calendar
