applied sciences can be obtained from the Principal alone and in cases of sickness or other unavoidable cause of non-attendance at the College written notice is to be sent to the Secretary by the parent guardian or medical attendant Exemption from attendance upon any particular subject of lecture can be obtained only from the Principal An appli- cation must in every case be addressed to him by the Parent or Guardian of the Student upon form to be obtained in the Secretary's office Except by the special permission of the Principal no one is admitted Student of this Department under sixteen years of age The full course of study which each Student is recommended to pursue carries him through three Academical years The year consists of Three Terms viz Michaelmas Term from the beginning of October to the week before Christmas Lent Term from the middle of January to the week before Easter Easter Term from Easter to the beginning of July Pupils who have passed two years in King's College School have attained the age of sixteen and have passed at least one Term in the highest class of either Division are allowed on their entrance to this Department to take rank with Students of the Fourth Term Personal application must be made at the time of entrance to the Secretary in order to secure this advantage At the beginning of every term each Student must take his card of admission to the Dean to be countersigned and re- gistered There are examinations at the end of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms when the Students are classed according to pro- ficiency The examination in June is followed by public distribution of Prizes detailed report is sent at the end of each term to the parents or guardians of each Student both as to his progress and as to his general attention and good conduct during the term In case of Student being absent from the College without permission from the Principal or without notice being sent
