THE SCHOOL 361 SiitS Class JeeJoIarsSips Two Scholarships every year of £6 each one for each Division of the School These Scholarships are open to all Pupils who having been one complete Term in the School were not in the case of boys belonging to Division twelve and in the case of boys belonging to Division Β eleven years of age on the 1st of January preceding the Election The examinations for these Scholarships embrace all the subjects taught in the respective Divisions to which they are attached The subjects of examination are given out at the commence- ment of each Summer Vacation The Examinations take place at the beginning of the Lent Term in each year and the names of the successful Candidates will be announced within fourteen days These Scholarships can be held so long as Pupil remains in the School or so long as he pursues his studies at King's College or at either of the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge Any Pupil holding Junior Scholarship resigns the same in the event of his obtaining one of higher class Scholarship obtained in the School is tenable with one gained in the College In seeking to ascertain for which Scholarship any particular Pupil may become Candidate it is to be remembered that the age and the number of Terms must be calculated up to the 1st of January preceding the Election The next Examinations for all the Scholarships except the Mathematical will take place in the latter part of July 1865 Each Candidate must give in his name in writing to the Secretary of the College before four o'clock on Thursday July 13 1865 after which time no name will under any circum- stances he received The Examination for the Mathematical Scholarships will take place at the end of June 1865 Each Candidate must
