GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 89 Certificates of Approval will be given to such Students as in tbe opinion of the Examiners are entitled to them -No Scholarship Prize or Certificate will be given except for absolute merit nor to any Student who has not entered at least upon bis Second Term III Mathematics Lectures daily Saturday excepted from 10J to The subjects of these Lectures are Euclid Algebra Plane and Spherical Trigonometry Conic Sections Algebraic Geo- metry the Differential and Integral Calculus Mechanics Hydrostatics and Newton's Principia Sect II III The Students are divided into four Divisions and in these Divisions they are arranged in order of merit at each ex- amination Subjects for 1863-64 First Division -Elementary Mechanics and Hydrostatics Spherical Trigonometry Differential and Integral Calculus and Newton Sect II III Second Division -Conic Sections Elementary parts of the Theory of Equations-the Differential Calculus functions of one variable -Elementary Mechanics Third Division -Euclid II III IV VI XI Algebra- Plane Trigonometry Junior or Fourth Division -Euclid and Algebra Students of the Second and Third Years not qualified to read the subject of the First and Second Divisions will attend those of the Third Division Scholarships Prizes etc -At the examination which takes place at the close of the Easter Term the same Scho- larships Prizes and Certificates are given as in tbe corre- sponding Divisions of Classical Literature Fees for Occasional Students ΊΙ As per term or 10 10i per annum
