262 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT THIRD TEAR Winter Session -Clinical Lectures 75 Clinical Medical Practice The above course of study may be extended over longer period than three "Winter and two Summer Sessions provided the Lectures and Medical Practice are attended in the order prescribed Those gentlemen whose attendance on Lectures commenced before the 1st of October 1858 will be allowed to complete their studies in conformity with the previous Regulations of the Court Registration of Testimonials All testimonials must be given on printed Schedule and the blanks therein must be filled up by the Lecturers themselves Students will be supplied at their first registration All Students in London are required personally to register the several classes for which tliey have taken tickets and those only will be considered as com- plying with the regulations of the Court whose names and classes in the Register correspond with their Schedules Tickets of admission to lectures and medical practice must be registered in the months of October and May but no ticket will be registered unless it be dated within seven days of the commencement of the Course Due notice of the days and hours of such registrations will be given from time to time Junior Preliminary Examination in Classics and Mathematics An Examination in Classics and Mathematics will be held at the Hall three times in the year viz on the third Tuesday in the months of March July and November Medical Students will be admitted to this Examination at any period from the date of their Apprenticeship to the commencement of the Second Winter Session of their curriculum and those who pass it will not be subject to any subsequent Examination in Latin except in the Pharmacopoeia Londinensia and Prescriptions The subjects of Examination will be announced in the Medical Journals three months before each Examination Candidates for this Examination will be required to enter their names in book kept at the Beadle's Office not less than Fortnight before the day of Examination This Examina- tion will be compulsory on those Gentlemen who commence their Apprenticeship on or after the 1st of August 1858 unless they produce Certificate of having passed either the Matriculation Examination at the University of London or the Midfile Class Examination of Oxford or Cambridge Gentlemen failing to pass this Examination will not be re-admitted under period of Four Months The Course of Clinical Lectures may be commenced in the SecondSummer Session The Attendance on these Lectures must be certified by one or more of the recognised Physicians of the Hospital See note page 253
