MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 227 Such Assistant House Surgeons as shall have performed their duties to the satisfaction of the Committee of Management and the Council during six months shall if otherwise eligible be considered as having cateris paribus claim to be elected to the office of House Surgeon Pathological Registrar -The duties of this Officer are To see that due notice of the time of holding each post- mortem Examination be posted at the Hospital and College To perform all Medical and Surgical post-mortem Examinations unless the Physician or Surgeon wish to per- form such Examination himself In the absence of the Physician or Surgeon to point out to the Students the morbid appearances and other circum- stances worthy of notice In the absence of the Physician or Surgeon to dictate during the progress of the post-mortem to the Clinical Clerk or Dresser under whose charge the patient has been the morbid appearances and particulars to be recorded in the case book To enter in book kept for the purpose called the post- mortem book an abstract of each fatal case in prescribed order and the particulars of the post-mortem examination To be responsible for the safe keeping of such specimens as require preservation for the purposes of the Museum or Lectures at the College To dissect and prepare for the Museum all specimens that the Museum Committee shall direct To post in the Museum Catalogue succinct description of each new preparation with reference in case of speci- mens brought from the Hospital to the particulars in the post-mortem book The post-mortem book is to be kept in the Museum of the College for reference Medical Registrar -The duties of this Officer are to prepare an abstract of all the Medical cases admitted into the Hos- pital The abstracts to be drawn up in systematic form on papers supplied for the purpose and the records to be kept at the Hospital Ī”
