medical department 213 This Scholarship is tenable for two years provided the Scholar continue to attend Lectures in the Medical Depart- ment and to reside within the limits of the College unless previously to the expiration of the two years for which the Scholarship is tenable the Scholar have passed the necessary examinations required by the College of Surgeons and the Society of Apothecaries or have been excused from further residence by the Council of King's College for any cause that may to them seem reasonable provided also that at the close of his Third Academical Year each Scholar on this foundation shall produce to the Council certificate signed by the Prin- cipal the Chaplain and the Censor of the College and by the Dean of the Medical Department of good conduct of regular attendance on the Sunday and daily Chapel Service and on the Divinity Lectures and Examinations and of satisfactory progress in his Religious and Medical studies during the year then past Unless such Certificate be produced the Scholarship will become void at the close of that Academical Year The Scholars of this Class will be required to go in for the ordinary Medical Scholarship in their third year and the Dean's Certificate of satisfactory progress in Medical studies will be based upon their obtaining an aggregate of one-half the marks in that examination This Scholarship is tenable with any other King's College Scholarship Section XI College rrlioIarsfiipB Good Conduct regular attendance at Chapel and upon the Divinity Lectures and Examinations together with compe- tent knowledge of such subjects in Divinity as shall be pre- viously fixed upon are indispensable for the admission of any Student or Pupil to be Candidate for Scholarship in this College The conditign of "regular attendance at Chapel" will he dispensed with in the case of those who by reason of living at long distance from the College receive from the Principal formal exemption from such attendance but no Student exempted on other grounds will be eligible as Candidate
