MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 195 The regular Course of Instruction in this Department occu- pies either three or four years according to particular circum- stances Seepage 197 The year is divided into two Sessions The Winter Session beginning October 1st terminates at the end of March The Summer Session beginning May 1st terminates at the end of July No one can be admitted into this Department under the age of sixteen except by the special permission of the Principal There is short vacation at Christmas extending from the day before Christmas Day to the day after New Year's Day inclusive The Students of each Class are examined at regular intervals throughout the Session there are also Scholarship and Prize Examinations at the close of each Session public distri- bution of Prizes takes place in the course of each Summer Session Every Student must at the beginning of each Session make application to the Sub-Dean for written order for admission to such Lectures as he proposes to attend This order will be exchanged in the Secretary's office for cards which cards must afterwards be countersigned first by the Sub-Dean and secondly by the respective Professors The card for Hospital attendance must also be brought to the Sub-Dean for sig- nature at the beginning of each Winter and Summer Session The attendance of each Student at Chapel and Lectures is regularly marked At the close of each division of the Winter Session and at the close of the Summer Session the Sub-Dean prepares Report of the attendance general character and conduct of each Student which is forwarded to his Parent or Guardian by the Dean after being submitted to and signed by the Principal copy of these reports is kept for future reference All Certificates must be obtained from the Sub-Dean at the close of each Session Students are requested to give in their Schedules to the Sub-Dean as soon as they can procure them from the Hall and the College ν
