APPLIED SCIENCES 131 Marks are given to the papers at these examinations according to merit and the students are classed at the close of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms On the last day of the academical year prize is adjudged to the best Student in each year respectively Student who has obtained Divinity Prize in any one year in this or in any other Department of the College cannot again become candidate for this Prize II Mathematics The Lectures are given every day Saturday excepted On Monday Wednesday and Thursday from 10 15 to The Class is divided into two divisions one of which attends the Lectures on Natural Philosophy while the other attends the Lectures on Mathematics As rule the Senior Division attends Natural Philosophy from 10 15 to 11 40 and Mathematics from 11 50 to The Junior Division attends Mathematics from 10 15 to 11 40 and Natural Philosophy from 11 50 to On Tuesdays and Fridays the whole Class attends Chemis- try at 10 15 and Mathematics from 11 50 to The subjects for the First Year are-Euclid and 21 Propositions of Book 11 Algebra and Plane Trigono- metry and Mensuration For the Second Year Conic Sections and the Elements of the Diiferential Calculus In the Third Year Spherical Trigonometry the higher parts of the Diiferential and Integral Calculus and the Ele- ments of the Geometry of Three Dimensions Fee for Occasional Students 41 4s per term or 10 10s per annum III Natural Philosophy and Astronomy Two Courses of Lectures are given on this subject one to Students of the First Year on Monday Wednesday and Thursday at 10 15 the other to Students of the Second and Third Years on the same days at 11 45
