01 THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT II In the case of all others the Course must be continued for at least six entire terms two years before the Student can offer himself for the Final Examination Section general rules All Students are required to attend the daily Morning Service in the College Chapel II No Student may absent himself from any lecture without the express permission of the Principal being first obtained except in cases of illness and then written notice must be sent to the Principal Section VI advice to students The following Suggestions have been drawn up for the use of Students in Theology at King's College London It is hoped that they will help them to make profitable use of their time during the period of their attendance and guide them in the continuance of their studies afterwards Note-taking -Students are recommended not to attempt verbatim report of Lectures The note-book should record faithfully the substance of all that the Lecturer has said and in particular all references for future use To attempt more will commonly lead to failure If successful the Student will find that the mass of notes which he thus accumulates will demand an undue proportion of his time II Note-books -It is advisable to start with separate note- books for each subject and to write on one page only at each opening The notes of College Lectures ought to be made nucleus round which the student may gather the results of his own reading on the same subject and the blank page gives him the opportunity of entering in their right place the references or quotations that are necessary for this pur-
