ANNUAL REPORT 43 Frederick Marsdin Thomas Morton At the Matriculation Examination Henry Trimen Honours in Botany Gywnne Henry Harries Honours in Zoology At the Competitive Examination for Commissions in the Army Medical Service held August 1860 the following Stu- dents of this College were successful John Walters Reginald Croft Lever Frank Pout King's College Hospital -The Council are happy to be able to announce the approaching completion of the second and largest portion of the new Hospital The recent severe weather interrupted all building operations and occasioned some delay otherwise in all probability by this time the building would have been handed over complete by the con- tractors The portion of the new Hospital about to be opened in addition to number of new Wards comprises the entrance- hall and business offices the kitchen the great staircase with its provisions for warmth and ventilation and suitable accommodation for the nursing sisters and for the resident officers As soon as the works are completed the Council earnestly hope that the Members of this Court will embrace the opportunity of visiting and inspecting the splendid edifice which their munificent liberality has assisted in raising for the instruction of the Medical Students of the College and which has so largely tended to the alleviation of sickness and suffering amongst the destitute poor The new Hospital will worthily take its place amongst the numerous monu- ments of Christian benevolence for which this Metropolis is so justly famed Honours in Anatomy and Physio- logy and in Materia Medica Honours in Anatomy and Phy- siology
