MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 239 II Every Candidate for the College Licence is required to give proof under Examination of his proficiency in the Science and Practice of Medicine and Midwifery The Examination will he divided into two parts The first part will comprise Anatomy and Physiology Chemistry Materia Medica Practical Pharmacy to be undergone after the termination of the second Winter Session of study at recognised Medical School The second part will comprise Midwifery and the Diseases of Women Principles arid Practice of Medicine and Forensic Medicine to be undergone after an interval of at least eighteen months from the first Examination except in the case oi Students who have commenced their Professional Education before October 1861 The Examinations will be conducted in writing as well as viva voce and the Candidate's knowledge of Practical Medicine will be tested by requiring him to examine persons labouring under disease either at the College or in the Wards of Hospital III Any Candidate being Member of one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain or Ireland will be exempted from Examination in Descriptive Anatomy IV Every Candidate must give fourteen days' notice in writing to the Re- gistrar of the College of his intention to present himself for Examination and before he is admitted to the first part of the Professional Examination he must pay Fee of Five Guineas and before he is admitted to the second part of the Professional Examination he must pay Fee of Ten Guineas Should he fail to pass either Examination the Fee will not be returned but he may be admitted to subsequent Examination as the case may be without the pay- ment of an additional Fee The days and hours of the Examinations may be learned on application at the College Candidate who shall fail to pass either of these Examinations shall not be re-admitted to Examination until after the lapse of six months VI All Certificates and Testimonials required by the preceding Regulations must be left with the Registrar of the College at least fourteen days before the day of Examination VII Any Registered Medical Practitioner" whose Qualification or Qualifi- cations shall have been obtained before the first day of January 1861 having been with the consent of the College admitted Candidate for the Licence will be Examined on the Principles and Practice of Medicine and Midwifery but he will be exempted from such other parts of the Examinations hereinbefore de- scribed as his Qualifications may seem to the Examiners to justify VIII The Fee for the Licence to practice Physic as Licentiate shall be Fifteen Guineas exclusive of Stamp Duty There is no further Fee for the Licence
