MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 209 by the 20th of March and the 20th of July respectively the attendance of Students on Midwifery cases If the Assistant to the Physician Accoucheur is by any cause prevented froiri attending temporarily to his duties he shall provide substitute approved by the Physician Accoucheur Out-Palient Dressers -There shall be twelve Out-Patient Dressers who shall serve three months under each surgeon Out-Patient Dressers shall be matriculated students who have attended diligently six months' surgical practice The examination of Out-Dressers shall be pass examination to consist of two divisions 1st viva voce principally in Anatomy 2d written principally Surgical in both cases having par- ticular reference to the nature of out-patient surgery No student failing in the first division shall be admitted to the second They shall all attend punctually on the days of the surgeon under whom they may be serving for the purpose of dressing patients in the surgery and registering the patients under the direction of the surgeon or assistant-surgeon in attendance The examination for Out-Patient Dressers is pass exami- nation Candidates who pass the examination will be elected according to seniority in the Hospital Register If any Out-Patient Dresser is by any cause prevented from attending temporarily to his duties he shall provide sub- stitute approved by the Surgeon under whom he is serving Dentist's Assistants -There shall be two Dentist's Assistants elected by examination in Dentistry from among those Pupils who shall have attended with regularity the Dental Practice of the Hospital They shall serve for Six Months shall attend regularly at the hours appointed and act under the direction of the Surgeon Dentist In-Patient Dressers There shall be eight In-Patient Dressers not exceeding three for any one Surgeon Candi- dates must have attended six months' In-Patient Surgical practice Ο
