GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 8a VI VII French and German Lectures are given- In French on Monday and Thursday from 3£ to In German on Tuesday and Friday from 3j to 4£ Special Instruction is also given from 4J tp 4f to those wishing for additional time at these subjects II Students of the First Year those who have not kept three Terms are required to attend the Lectures of the Professor of French Students of the Second Year those who have kept three but not six Terms are required to attend the Lectures of the Professor of German Students who have kept six Terms are required to attend either French or German at the option of their Parents or Guardians III In case of any Student being desirous from any cause to attend either French or German out of his regular year the privilege may be granted by the Principal IV At the examination in June Prize of Books and Certificate of Honour are if merited given to the first and second Students respectively in the First Division of each of these subjects and Prize and Certificate of Approval to the first and second Students respectively in the Second Division VIII Extra Instruction Instruction is also given within the walls of the College in Hebrew Italian Chinese the Oriental Languages including Sanscrit Hindoostani Modern Greek Turkish and Arabic Drawing and Fencing but these are all independent of the regular prescribed course The Fees and the hours of attendance together with the names of the Professors will be found at pages 89 and 90
