GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 83 this Department and in that of the Applied Sciences taken together One Scholarship is given for proficiency in Classics and the other for proficiency in Mathematics All Candidates for these Scholarships must have passed satisfactorily the terminal Examination held at the preceding Christmas in every one of the subjects prescribed for the regular work of this Department including French or German This rule will apply even in the case of Student exempted by the Principal from attendance on any course of Lectures These two Scholarships are tenable together The first payment will be made in the October succeeding the election and will be continued quarterly over one year pro- vided the Scholar during the three months preceding each Quarter-day the months of July August and September excepted has continued to attend lectures as Matriculated Student of the College For further particulars see page 67 IV Junior rJ0Iaref ipB Two in each year of Ā£20 each lenable for One Tear These Scholarships are open To all Matriculated Students of this Department who are at least in their second Term but who have not exceeded three Terms either in this Department or in this Department and in that of the Applied Sciences taken together And To all Pupils of King's College School or of one of the Schools in union with the College who have been two years in such School and have attained the age of six- teen Such Candidates however if successful must immediately matriculate at the College One of these Scholarships is given for proficiency in Classics and the other for proficiency in Mathematics
