176 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT To answer either viva voce or in writing as the Examiners may direct four questions on cases which shall have occurred or been treated within the Hospital in the practice of the Physicians and Surgeons thereof in the current Session Candidates who have been holding Hospital Appointments in the year preceding the Exa- mination will have the liberty of stating at the time they give in their names which of the two Physicians and which of the two Surgeons making the mid-day visit they have had the opportunity of attending and they will be ex- amined only in the Clinical Lectures and Clinical Teaching given by such Physician and Surgeon The examination will commence on Thursday July 19 1860 and the names of all Candidates must be sent in writing to the Secretary of the College accompanied by the necessary Certificates before four o'clock on Thursday July 12 after which hour no name can be received One hundred marks are in the examination for this Scholar- ship assigned to each of the great subjects viz Divinity and Hospital Practice Any Candidate failing to get 50 marks in Divinity is thereby absolutely disqualified from further ex- amination No Scholarship will be awarded to any Candidate who does not obtain an aggregate number of marks equal to two-thirds of the whole This Scholarship is tenable for two years provided the Scholar continue to attend Lectures in the Nfedical Depart- ment and to reside within the limits of the College unless previously to the expiration of the two years for which the Scholarship is tenable the Scholar have passed the necessary examinations required by the College of Surgeons and the Society of Apothecaries or have been excused from further residence by the Council of King's College for any cause that may to them seem reasonable provided also that at the close
