174 medical department Friday September 30 to 11 Latin 11J to Greek to French Saturday October ο Μ TLIV1 αττγό ίΗ hourto each ofthethree subjects ע to 1V1AIHEMA11LS with short intermissions Monday October to 11 History 11J to English Literature to German All Candidates for these Scholarships must register their Cards of admission with the Sub-Dean before the first day of examination The subjects for examination for the Scholarships to be given in October 1860 will be as follows Divinity -The Books of Exodus and Numbers The Gospel according to St Mark in Greek The Church Catechism with Scripture proofs The Greek and Latin Classics -Xenophon the Hellenics Book II Virgil Georgics Book III and iEneid Book English Language and History -Milton's Minor Works including all but Paradise Lost and Regained The Com- monwealth Mathematics -Arithmetic Algebra as far as Quadratic Equations Euclid Book Book II except Props 10 Book III The Modern Languages -French Histoire des Protestans de France par De Felice German Grosz-Hoffinger's Erzherzog Karl von Oesterreich Class II For the Encouragement of Resident Medical Students One Scholarship is awarded at the close of each Summer Session of the value of £25 per annum to be held for two years subject to the provisions hereafter stated
