252 THE SCHOOL Third Prize Euclid VI and XI Algebra Division VIII Fourth Prize Euclid IV and VI Algebra Division VII Fifth Prize Euclid III and IV Algebra Division VI One Prize each Term Subjects for examination Euclid General Algebra Mechanics The Prizemen are selected without reference to the Clas- sical Classes in which they are placed No boy can compete for the same Prize which he has gained before No boy who obtains Mathematical Scholarship in the Lent Term will be eligible for Prize in that Term No boy can compete for lower Prize if he has already com- peted for higher one in any previous Term The Examiner can withhold the Prize from any Division if no boy in that Division should exhibit satisfactory know- ledge of his subjects and such Prize may be awarded to any meritorious boy in another Division Three Prizes each Term to the boys passing the best Exa- mination in the following subjects First Prize -General paper in Arithmetic Second Prize -Commercial rules of Arithmetic Third Prize -Vulgar and Decimal Fractions With the view of preventing any Pupil contending for lower Prize than is consistent with his standing in Arithmetic the Examiner with the assistance of the Arithmetical Master will decide for which Prize each Candidate is at liberty to contend The Prizemen are selected without reference to the Clas- sical Classes in which they are placed No boy can gain the same prize more than once Sixth Prize Euclid III Seventh Prize Euclid II Algebra Division Algebra Division III IN ENGINEERING IN ARITHMETIC
