GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 83 These two Scholarships are tenable together and can be held only so long as the Scholar continues to attend lectures as Matriculated Student of the College Student holding Junior Scholarship resigns the same should he succeed in gaining Senior Scholarship The next Examination both for the Senior and Junior Scho- larships will take place upon the following days Tuesday 20th Jan 1857 PreliminaryExaminations The Names of all Candidates must be sent in writing to the Secretary and the Fees for the Lent Term paid before four o'clock on Tuesday January 13 1857 after which hour no name will be received The following will be the subjects for Examination SUBJECTS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS 1857 CLASSICAL SCHOLARSHIPS Senior Sophocles CEd Tyr and Ajax JLschylus Prom Vinct Tacitus Ann and Hist Compositions Candidates will also be examined in passage from some other Greek and Latin Classic Junior Horn Iliad VII VIII IX Liv Libri XXI to XXV Compositions Candidates will also be examined in passage from some other Greek and Latin Classic Wednesday 21st Thursday 22d Friday 23d Saturday 24th
