180 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT Sect II No one shall be admitted to the Examinations for the Degree of Doctor who has not given sufficient evidence That he has studied once at least eacli of the following departments of Medical Science under Professors of Medicine in this or in some other Uni- versity as already defined viz Anatomy Chemistry Materia Medi ca and Pharmacy Institutes of Medicine or Phvsiology Practice of Medicine Surgery Midwifery and the Diseases peculiar to Women and Chi ldren General Pathology or in Schools where there is no such course three months' Course of Lectures on Morbid Anatomy together with supplemental Course of Practice of Medicine or Clinical Medicine Practical Anatomy unless it has been attended in the year of extra-academical Study allowed by Sect Clinical Medicine that is the Treat- ment of Patients in l'ublic Hospital under Professor of Medicine by whom Lectures on the cases are given Clinical Surgery Medical Jurisprudence Botany Natural History including Zoology During Courses of Six Months During Courses of Six Months or two Courses of Three Months During Courses of at least Three Months That in each year of his Academical Studies in Medicine he has attended at least two of the Six Months' Courses of Lectures or one of these and two Three Months' Courses That besides the course of Clinical Medicine already prescribed he has attended for at least six mouths of another year the Medical or Surgical Practice of General Hospital either at Edinburgh or elsewhere which accommodates not fewer than eighty patients That he has been engaged for at least six mouths by Apprenticeship or otherwise in Compounding and Dispensing Drugs at the Laboratory of an Hospital Dispensary Member of Surgical College or Faculty Licentiate of the Loudon or Dublin Society of Apothecaries or professional Chemist or Druggist That he has attended for at least six months by Apprenticeship or otherwise the Jut-practice of an Hospital or the Practice of Dispeusary Physician Surgeon or Member of the Loudon or Dublin Society of Apothecaries
