GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE 67 -VI French and German Lectures are given in both these Languages on Monday and Thursday from Half-past to II Students of the First Year those who have not kept three Terms attend the Lectures of the Professor of French Students of the Second Year those who have kept three but not six Terms attend the Lectures of the Professor of German Students who have kept six Terms attend either French or German at the option of their Parents or Guardians III Exemption from attendance on French and German λ ill be granted only by the Principal and in writing addressed to the Professor on whom the Student ought to attend upon application from his Parent or Guardian IV In case of any Student being desirous from any cause to attend either French or German out of his regular year the privilege may be granted by the Principal but an extra fee of 11 Is per Term must in such cases be paid VII Extra Instruction Instruction is also given within the Avails of the College in Hebrew Italian Spanish Chinese the Oriental Languages including Sanscrit Arabic Persian and Hindoostani Vocal Music Drawing Fencing but these are all independent of the regular prescribed course The Fees and the hours of attendance together with the names of the Professors will be found at page 71 Section II REGULATIONS RESPECTING STUDENTS The days for the admission of new Students in the Academi- cal Year 1854-5 are Wednesday October Wednesday January 24 and Tuesday April 17 but it is better to pay the fees previously to these days
