annual report 1854 41 Dean of the Medical Department is associated with Professor Browne of the Department of General Literature and Science in the delivery of complete course of Logic has been sane- tioned by the Council These lectures will be given in the first half of the AVinter Session from October to December of each year season particularly convenient to the Medical Student Arrangements have also been made for the delivery of course of Natural Philosophy as required by the Army Medical Board during the same part of the Medical Session The Museums and Library which continue under the superintendence of the Dean of the Medical Department have received more than the usual number of additions and the arrangement announced last year continues to work well The Museum of Comparative Anatomy has been completely re-arranged under the superintendence of Professor Rymer Jones and improvements have been effected in the Materia Medica Museum which it is believed are very advantageous to the Students The Council have had much pleasure in receiving favour- able report of the progress of the new Hospital The Building is ηολν so far advanced that the opening of the first part may be confidently anticipated for the beginning of the next Winter Session The further progress of the building confirms and justifies the favourable expectations entertained of its archi- tectural character and of the ample accommodation provided for patients The opening of the first portion of the building in October will constitute an era in the history of the College The Council take this opportunity of acknowledging the great services rendered to the College by William Moody Esq the late Vice-Chairman and by the otber members of the Committee of Management of King's College Hospital The zeal and exertions of these gentlemen in promoting the wel- fare of this Institution -which the Council must always regard as an indispensable accessory to the appliances for instructing their own Medical Students -are beyond all praise King's College School which is more than usually full continues to tlourish as usual under the exemplary govern-
