190 MILITARY DEPARTMENT card of admission to the Professor of Military Science to be countersigned and registered There are Examinations at the end of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms when the Students are classed according to pro- ficiency The Examination in June is followed by public Distribution of Prizes detailed Report is sent at the end of each term to the parents or guardians of each Student both as to his progress and as to his general attention and good conduct during the Term In case of Student being absent from the College without permission from the Principal or without written notice being sent to the Secretary letter is immediately addressed to the parent or guardian notifying the fact The General Library is open daily to all Students for the purposes of study See Regulations page 200 limited number of Students are admitted to reside within the College see page 240 and some of the Gentlemen con- nected with this Department receive Students into their houses See page 243 Dinner is provided in the College Hall every day at Six o'clock for such Students as mav wish to avail themselves of that accommodation See page 244 II Occasional Students The different Classes in this Department are likewise open to any Gentlemen whose occu- nations may not allow them to attend the whole of the Course but who may wish to avail themselves of the opportunity of studying any particular subject Separate Class for Officers of her Majesty's and the Honourable East India Company's Service has been esta- blished See below Section officers' class This Class is established for the professional and general instruction of the Junior Officers of Her Majesty's and the Honourable East India Company's Service
