11s MEDICAL DEPARTMENT Museums of Anatomy Comparative Anatomy Zoology and Geology belonging to the College XII Practical CHEMISTRY These Demonstrations commence with the Summer Session and terminate towards the end of June The instruction given is comprised in thirty lessons of two hours eaeh and is so arranged that each Student performs the operations which are in most frequent use in the Laboratory for the purposes of analysis or research To facilitate the course of study the Pupils are divided into groups eaeh pur- suing distinct plan of operations As the keeping of accurate notes is quite as important as the performance of the experiments themselves every Student is required to keep note-book of his operations to be open to the inspection of the Professor and Demonstrator and in which the calculations and results are recorded with the pro- bable reasons of failure if the experiments are unsuccessful During this Course brief explanation is given of the prin- cipal phenomena developed in order to connect the facts ob- served with the principles on which they rest This Course is adapted to the requirements of the University of London of the Society of Apothecaries and of the Medical Boards of the Army and Navy as well as to all who with objects professional or otherwise wish to obtain an acquaint- ance with the process of Manipulation Materials for working are supplied free of charge but all damage done to apparatus must be repaired at the expense of the Student who may have occasioned the same Students who desire further to prosecute this practical study of Chemistrv are recommended in the summer following that ×” in which thev have attended the Course of Demonstration to avail themselves of the opportunity of becoming familiar with the examination of morbid products and the processes for analysing the animal secretions by entering for month or longer to the Class of Analytical Chemistry
