106 APPLIED SCIENCES sophy Arts of Construction Manufacturing Art Land Sur- veying and Levelling Geometrical Drawing Chemistry Practical Chemistry Geology Practical Geology and Mining Mineralogy and Skill in the Workshop Student who is elected to either of the Scholarships of this Department is thereby disqualified from receiving prize during the Academical Year in which he is elected in an subject which may be included in the Examination for such Scholarship but he will be placed in the Class List according to the rank he attains in the Prize Kxamination Section IX CERTIFICATES Certificates of two kinds are granted to Students of this Department Certifcates of Approval -These may be obtained by every Student at the June Examination succeeding the completion of his Sixth Term The following are the necessary attainments for obtaining this Certificate Certificates must be obtained of regular attendance at Chapel and at the Divinity Lecture satisfactory examination must be passed in the subjects taught the preceding year in the Classes of Natural Philo- sophy and Chemistry satisfactory examination must be passed in the fol- lowing Mathematical subjects Euclid Books II III IV VI XI Hall's Algebra Chaps 11 III IV VI VII VIII IX and XII Hall's Plane Trigonometry Chaps II III IV Halls Differential Calculus Chaps II III IV VI VII omitting Articles 61 to 66 and 60 to the end of the Chapter Equations to the Conic Sections Drawings of the plan elevation and section of Machine accompanied by others showing the details of the Machine
