98 APPLIED SCIENCES for the srood government of the College under the sanction סס ο and authority of the Council Matriculated Students are required to attend regularly the College Chapel and the Chaplain's Divinity Lectures they must wear the Academical cap and gown within the prec nets of the College and are required to attend with perfect regu- larity the lectures of their several years Leave of absence can be obtained from the Principal alone and in cases of sickness or other unavoidable cause of non-attendance at the College written notice is to be sent to the Secretary by the parent guardian or medical attendant The general age for admission into this Department is Sixteeu and no one under this age is received except by the special permission of the Principal The full course of study which each Student is recommended to pursue carries him through three Academical Years year consists of Three Terms viz Michaelmas Term from the beginning of October to the week before Christmas Lent Term from the middle of January to the week before Eastern Easter Term from Easter to the beginning of July At the beginning of every Term each Student must take hia card of admission to the Dean to be countersigned and rJ gistered There are Examinations at the end of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms when the Students are classed according to pro- ficiency The Examination in June is followed by public Distri- bution of Prizes See page 105 detailed Report is sent at the end of each term to the parents or guardians of each Student both as to his progress and as to his general attention and good conduct during the Term In case of Student being absent from the College without permission from the Principal or without notice being sent to the Secretary letter is immediately addressed to the parent or guardian notifying the fact The General Library is open daily to all Students for the purposes of study See Regulations page 239
