GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE years in such School and have attained the age of six- teen Such Candidates however if successful must immediately matriculate at the College One of these Scholarships will be given for proficiency in Classics an Examination in the first three Books of Euclid in Arithmetic and in Algebra as far as Simple Equations having first been satisfactorily passed The other Scholarship will be given for proficiency in Mathematics an Examination in one Greek and one Latin Author previously fixed upon having first been satisfactorily passed These two Scholarships are tenable together and can be held only so long as the Scholar continues to attend lectures as Matriculated Student of the College Student holding Junior Scholarship resigns the same should he succeed in gaining Senior Scholarship The next Examination both for the Senior and Junior Scho- larships will take place upon the following days Saturda Mondav Tuesday Thursdav Friday Saturday Monday Tuesday 1st April 1854 3d 4th 6th 7th 8th 10th 11th י י יי יי יי יי יי יי יי Divinity Examination Preliminary Math Exam Preliminary Class Exam Exam in Mathematics Exam in History Exam in Classics In the case of all Candidates for the Senior Scholarships and also of those Candidates for the Junior Scholarships who may have been Students of the College during the preceding Michaelmas term the ordinary examination at Christmas if satisfactory will be considered an equivalent for the prelimi- nary examination in Classics and Mathematics and for the Divinity examination All other Candidates must pass these examinations at the time fixed
