LECTURES on COMMERCIAL LAW By LEONE LEVI ESQ Author of Commercial Law of the World" fyc fyc fyc Honorary Member of the Liverpool and Leeds Chambers of Commerce and Fellow of the Statistical Society London The Council of King's College having observed the wide interest taken by the Mercantile Classes in the reform of our Commercial Law have deemed it expedient to give to merchants nd others engaged in business an opportunity of acquiring knowledge of this branch of Law in the same manner as Medical Jurisprudence is taught to persons intending to embrace the Medical profession and with view to that effect they have made arrangements with Mr Leone Levi Author of the "Com- mcrcial Law of the World for his delivering Lectures at the College on the entire Mercantile Law of the United Kingdom and that of those countries with whom our commerce is chiefly carried on It is easy to conceive how important it is to afford to the mer- cantile body increased facilities for acquiring knowledge of branch of Law so nearly touching their interests and more- over to train up those who in few years must take upon them- selves the responsibilities and duties of active and official life in more thorough acquaintance with the principles which ought to guide them The Council trust that the Mercantile Classes will afford their countenance to the efforts of the College in promoting this object and encourage their sons or those in whom they may be inte- rested to attend such Lectures
