medical department 30 All Candidates for these Scholarships must enter their names with the Dean before the first day of examination -The Funds in the hands of the Council will enable them to elect Three Scholars on this Founda- tion in October 1853 The subjects for examination in 1854 will be as follows Divinity -The First and Second Books of Kings The Gospel according to St John Bishop Nicholson on the Church Catechism The Greek and Latin Classics Xenophon Anabasis Book III Virgil Georgics Book English History -History of England in the reign of James II Mathematics -Arithmetic Algebra as far as Quadratic Equations Euclid Book Book II except Props 10 Book III The Modem Tjanynayes Histoire de la Revolution IMignet Schiller's Gcschichte des dreissigjahrigen Kriegs Class II For the Encouragement of Resident Medical Students One Scholarship is awarded at the close of each Summer Session of the value of £25 per annum to be held for two years subject to the provisions hereafter stated and as often jas the Council has accumulated the sum of £'50 by means 10f lapsed and forfeited Scholarships or of interest on the Μ Warneford King College Scholarship funds in their possession an additional Scholarship of £25 per annum for two years is given after due notice This Scholarship is open to all Second Year Matriculated Students of the Medical Department being also perpetual Pupils of the Hospital who during At least Six Months of their First Academical Yean and have The whole of their Second Academical Year
