medical department חן 3' arnrfortr rf 0Iaref ip Pnftotomrnt The Rev Samuel Wilson Warneford LL having been pleased in November 1851 to present to the College the sum of Five Thousand Pounds for the foundation of Medical Scholarships and to lay down certain Rules for the guidance of the Council in awarding such Scholarships The Council hereby give notice that the following are the Rules under which Scholars on this Foundation will be elected Class For the encouragement of the previous Education of Medical Students Two Scholarships are given at the commencement of each Winter Session of the value of £25 per annum each to be held for three years subject to the provisions hereafter stated They are open to all Matriculated Students of the Medical Department who arc also perpetual Pupils of the Hospital at the commencement of their first Winter Session The Examination is in the following subjects -1 Divinity The Latin and Greek Classics English History Ma- thematics The Modern Languages -an equal number of marks being assigned to each of the five subjects but want of sufficient knowledge in Divinity absolutely disqualifies from further examination One hundred marks are in the examination assigned to each of the Five Subjects and no Scholarship will be awarded to any Candidate who docs not obtain an aggregate of at least 300 marks These Scholarships may be held for three years provided the Scholar continues so long attending Lectures in the Medical Department at King's College and provided he shall produce to the Council at the close of his First and Second Academical Year respectively Certificate signed by the Principal the Chaplain and the Dean of the Medical Depart- ment of good conduct of regular attendance on the daily Chapel Service and the Divinity Lectures and
