1 16 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT shall be supplied by candidate who has passed the exami- nation or failing any such by some student approved by the physicians In-Patient Clinical Clerks -There shall be four In-Patient Clinical Clerks two for each physician Candidates shall have attended six months' in-patient medical practice The examina tion shall be viva voce and written the former in anatomy and morbid anatomy-the latter in materia medica and the prac- tice of medicine Candidates shall also take case or cases chosen by the physicians from patients in the house at the time of examination The most proficient candidate shall be elected but in case of equality the preference shall be given to those who shall have served the office of Out-Patient Clerk to the satisfaction of the physicians for the full period of six months In-Patient Clinical Clerks shall serve for six months thev shall attend regularly at the hour appointed accompany tlu physician during his visit and keep correct report of all the eases belonging to the physician under whom they respect- ively serve On the taking-in days of their respective physicians the senior Clinical Clerks shall be ready to undertake the duties of Physicians' Assistant during his absence from the Hospital Physicians' Assistant -He shall be qualified by some diploma to practise medicine and shall have served to the satisfaction of the physicians the office of In-Patient Clinical Clerk for the full period of six months Pie shall previously to his appoint- meat produce certificate of moral character to the satis- faction of the Committee of Management He shall before entering into the office pay the sum of 30 for board during his six months' residence in the Hospital The examination shall be both viva voce and written the former in anatomy and morbid anatomy the latter in materia medica toxicology practice of medicine and midwifery The iftost proficient candidate shall be elected The Physicians' Assistant shall visit the medical wards
