142 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT -Attendance on Course or Courses of Lectures on Botany or Chemistry by Pupil of any other Department of the College whether Matriculated or Occasional does not prevent such Pupil if he afterwards enter as Medical Student from competing for the Medical Scholarships with Students of the same standing in the Medical Department as himself Uaniell cf 01arsf tp This Scholarship has been founded in honour of the late Daniell Esq Professor of Chemistry in this College Its object is to encourage the prosecution of original research in Chemistry This Scholarship is of the annual value of 20 and is tenable for two years It is given every second year and is open to every Student of the College whether matriculated or occasional It is awarded to the Student who shall have executed the best series of researches in the Laboratory of Kind's College during the two years immediately preceding the election for six months of which time he must have been pupil in the Laboratory The next Scholarship will be awarded at Easter 1853 The Papers of all Candidates must be placed in the hands of the Secretary by four o'clock on Wednesday March 23 1853 after which time no document will be received Section XIII Stcpfjrn αιιίι $Jlumptrr Wn'fffi The Stephen prize for an English Essay is open to all Matriculated Students of this Department See pp 69 and 75 The Plumptre Prizes for English Verse are open to all Matriculated Students of this Department See pp 70 and 75
