70 general literature and science II Occasional Students or those who being unable to attend the whole course are desirous of studying any par- ticular subject Every class is open to such Students on payment of the specified amount of fees The regular Course of Instruction in this Department carries the Student through three Academical Years Each Year con- sists of Three Terms viz Michaelmas Term from the beginning of October to the week before Christmas Lent Term from the middle of January to the week before Easter Easter Term from Easter to the end of June There is special Examination every year at Easter for all Students of Four Five and Six Terms standing and there are also examinations for all Students at the end of the Michaelmas and Easter Terms At these Examinations the Students are classed according to their proficiency The Examination in June is followed by public Distribution of Prizes detailed Report is sent at the end of each term to the parents or guardians of each Student both as to his progress and as to his general attention and good conduct during the Term The General Library is open daily to all Students for the purposes of study See Regulations page 217 limited number of Students are admitted to reside within the College see page 218 and some of the Professors as well as others connected with the College receive Students in their own houses See page 221 Dinner is provided in the College Hall every day at Six o'clock for such Students as may wish to avail themselves of this accommodation See page 222 Section III THE ASSOCIATESIIIP Students who have pursued their studies in this Depart- ment with credit for three years who have been regular in their attendance at Chapel and at the Divinity Lectures and have also attended one extra Course of Lectures are entitled to be recommended to the Council for election as Associates of King's College See 231 for the privileges of an Associate
