MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 145 fHumptre ψν μ$ The Plumptre Prizes for English Verse are open to all Matriculated Students of this Department See pp 7G and 82 CLASS PRIZES Prizes are awarded for proficiency in the several subjects of Anatomy Physiology Chemistry Materia Medica Surgery Medicine Midwifery Botany Forensic Medicine Comparative Anatomy and Practical Chemistry These consist of Books of the value of three pounds and are given to the highest Student in the Examination Certificates of Honour are also given to such Candidates for Prizes in each class as the respective Professors consider entitled to receive them Two Medical Clinical Prizes one of for the Winter Ses- sion and the other of 21 for the Summer Session and two Surgical Clinical Prizes of the same value are also given Candidates for these Prizes will be required- To write from memory the particulars of four cases two from the practice of each of the Physicians or Surgeons as the case may be which have been treated in the Hospital during the preceding Session each Candidate may select his own cases To give in writing the substance of two of the Clinical Lectures one delivered by each of the Physicians or Sur- geons as the case may be which have been delivered in the preceding Session The cases to be selected by the Examiners To answer four questions on cases occurring in the practice of the Physicians or Surgeons respectively within the Hospital All Students occasional as well as matriculated will be admitted to contend for the Class Prizes provided they have attended -in Anatomy and Physiology one course but not more than three courses of lectures -and in the other sub- jects one course but not more than two courses of lectures κ
