medical department 117 VII Principles and Practice of Medicine The Lectures on the Principles and Practice of Medicine are exemplified by Preparations Drawings and Models and by recent Specimens of diseased structure On account of the great extent of the subjects embraced in this Course some of them are treated of only in alternate years VIII Midwifery and the Diseases of Women and Children These Lectures are illustrated by series of Drawings Dissections and Preparations Practical instruction is given in the use of Instruments and cases of Midwifery are assigned to Pupils after attending their first Course IX Botany In these Lectures the organization of Plants is demonstrated their physiology explained and the diiferent modes of classi- fication natural and artificial described The subjects treated of arc illustrated by fresh and dried specimens of Plants and by large collection of Drawings and Diagrams The Pupils have frequent opportunities during the Course of attending the Professor on Herborizing Excursions Forensic Medicine These Lectures treat of the legal and medical relations of each question in Forensic Medicine including Toxicology The Course is illustrated by drawings preparations and tables and by numerous examples from recorded trials XI Comparative Anatomy and Physiology First Division of tlie Course -On the forms habits and gene- ral organization of the diiferent classes composing the animal creation -This part of the Course is equivalent to the Course of Lectures on Natural History required by the Army Medical Board
