applied sciences 107 Section IX certificates Certificates of two kinds are granted to Students of this Department Certificates of Approval -These may he obtained by every Student at the June Examination succeeding the completion of his Sixth Term The following are the necessary attainments for obtaining this Certificate Certificates must be obtained of regular attendance at Chapel and at the Divinity Lecture satisfactory examination must be passed in the subjects taught the preceding year in the Classes of Natural Philo- ן sophy and Chemistry satisfactory examination must be passed in the fol- owing Mathematical subjects Euclid Books II III IV VI XI Hall's Algebra Chaps II III IV VI VII VIII IX and XII Hall's Plane Trigonometry Chaps II III IV Hall's Differential Calculus Chaps II III IV VI VII omitting Articles 61 to 66 and 69 to the end of the Chapter Equations to the Conic Sections Drawings of the plan elevation and section of Machine iccompanied by others showing the details of the Machine Plan of Line of Railway or of an Estate from field notes to be furnished by the Lecturer on Surveying with he contents of the several fields therein II Certificates of Honour -These are granted only at the nd of the third year and to those whose studies have been mrsued with distinguished success This term of three years maybe reduced to two years in the ase of those Students who have previously passed two years ither in King's College School or in one of the schools in יזז union and who had reached the head class in such School efore leaving it
