78 GENERAL LITERATURE AND SCIENCE The next Examination both for the Senior and Junior Scho- larships will take place upon the following days Saturday 5th April 1851 Divinity Examination Tuesday 8th Preliminary Class Exam Preliminary Math Exam Exam in Classics Exam in History Exam in Mathematics Tuesday 8th Wednesday 9th Thursday 10 th Friday 11th Saturday 12 th Monday 14th Tuesday 15 th In the case of all Candidates for the Senior Scholarships and also of those Candidates for the Junior Scholarships who may have been Students of the College during the preceding Michaelmas term the ordinary examination at Christmas will be considered an equivalent for the preliminary examination in Classics and Mathematics and for the Divinity examination All other Candidates must pass these examinations at the time fixed The Names of all Candidates must be sent in to the Prin- cipal before one o'clock on Wednesday March 26 1851 after which hour no name will be received The following will be the subjects for Examination SUBJECTS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS 1851 CLASSICAL SCHOLARSHIPS Senior -The Book of Deuteronomy with the Marginal Refer- ences to the New Testament The Gospel according to St Luke in Greek The Principal's Lectures on the Thirty-nine Articles-those Articles treated of in the Michaelmas Term 1850 Thucydides IV VI Horace The Thirty Years' War
