141 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT Section XIII regulations for the Examination and Appointment of Clinical Clerics Dressers Physicians' Assistant and House Surgeon No Student shall under any circumstances be admitted as candidate for any of the above offices whose character or conduct shall not have been approved of by the medical officers generally On the occurrence of vacancy in any of the above offices notices thereof shall be posted one week before the examina- tion of candidates to fill such vacancy Candidates must send in their names to the Secretary of the Hospital at least the day before that appointed for the examination Examinations of candidates to fill all the above offices shall be held during the last week in April and the last week in October of each year The appointments shall severally take effect from the 1st May and the 1st November respectively fol- lowing In case of vacancy occurring in the meantime from some unavoidable cause such vacancy shall be temporarily filled up by the medical officers after the usual examination All examinations shall be held at King's College The physicians surgeons and assistant-surgeons shall receive notice from the Secretary of the Hospital of the day and hour appointed for any examination and their presence is particularly requested at the examination of the physicians' assistant and house surgeon Special certificates will be given to each Student who shall have filled any of the above offices to the satisfaction of the medical officers under whom he may have served Application for such certificates must be made to the Secretary of the Hospital No Student shall receive certificate who has not attended regularly during the entire six months of his appointment nor shall any certificate be granted without the sanction of the medical officers under whom he has served Candidates are required to write fair and legible hand Out Patient Clinical Clerks -There shall be seven Out-Patient Clinical Clerks two for each physician to out-patients and three
