122 medical department ing within the College he is constantly accessible and may be consulted upon numerous subjects to which the Professors could scarcely be expected to give their time and attention The Tutor's course of instruction is especially calculated to promote and encourage regular and diligent attendance upon Lectures During the Summer Session the same method is pursued with the subjects of Botany and Materia Medica XV The Dean of the Medical Department The Dean of the Medical Department is an Officer appointed by the Council for the immediate purpose of facilitating the current business No card of admission to Lectures can be obtained from the Secretary's office without his written order and when obtained must be signed by the Dean previously to being taken to the other Professors All Certificates like- wise must be signed by the Dean previously to being signed by the Professors During the Session the Dean gives daily attendance in the Marsden Librarv from 10 to 11 o'clock XVI King's College Hospital This Hospital is situate in the immediate neighbourhood of the College and in the midst of densely-populated neigh- bourhood Eleventh Annual Report of King's College Hospital 1850 The period has again arrived when the Committee of Management render an account of the manner in which they have performed the trust committed to their charge and they have the pleasure of informing the Governors that the Hospital has maintained its high character for etliciency throughout the past year during which unusual claims have been made upon its funds by the arrangements rendered imperative by the numerous calls for assistance during the time that the Cholera was raging In that period 123 cases of Cholera were admitted and of that number 83 were restored to their families and friends it is also gratifying to state that no case which presented itself was refused adn iision Notwithstanding the very limited accommodation for the
