THEOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT 47 that he will conform to all the rules and regulations of the College Associates of King's College London and Graduates in Arts of Oxford Cambridge or Durham xvill be admitted on producing testimonials from their respective colleges ΙΓ All persons not being Associates of King's College London or Graduates in Arts of Oxford Cambridge or Dur- ham must conform to the following rules They must be 21 years of age Fourteen days before the entrance examination the ν must send in an application for admission stating their age and other circumstances as may be seen in the printed form to be obtained from the Secretary They must produce Certificate of good moral and religious character from the Clergyman of their parish or of the parish in which they have last resided They must pass the entrance examination The neces- sary qualifications for this examination are the Four Gospels in Greek knowledge of the Historical Scriptures in English an acquaintance with Bishop Nicholson's Exposition of the Church Catechism Society for Promoting Christian Know- ledge grammatical knowledge of some one Greek and some one Latin classical book which may be selected by the Candi- date himself and the power of translating from English into Latin An acquaintance with the elements of Hebrew is also desirable and will at no distant period be required The choice of books to be brought up for the Greek and Latin examination must be made from the following list Homf -Books II III Cicero -" De Finihus One Greek Tragedy Cjesar -" De Bello Gallico Three Herodotus -Book II or any two Books other Books Sallust Thucydides -One Book Livy-Two Books Xenophon -" Cyropaedia Books Tacitus De Moribus German- II III orum and Affricola II III Cicero -" De Officiis De Natura Deorum Anabasis Books Virgii -Three Books of the JEneid or the Georgics Horace -The Odes the Satires or the Epistles
